BAZAAR Editors Pick Their Best Dressed Wimbledon Attendees

Tennis Harper's BAZAAR

From Poppy Delevingne to Sienna Miller, Harper's BAZAAR's fashion editors pick their best-dressed attendees from Wimbledon 2019.
'While we know that technically Wimbledon is classified as a sporting event, we think that the sheer amount of well-dressed attendees puts it firmly in 'fashion event' territory. Over the course of the two-week tournament, the attendance of everyone from royals to A-listers meant that the stands looked more like a fashion week front-row than a crowd of sports fans. And now that the championship has wrapped up and trophies have been handed over (from a very chic Duchess of Cambridge in sky-blue Emilia Wickstead ), we're looking back over who deserves the fashion accolades. Below, BAZAAR's editors weigh in. Mahalia Chang BAZAAR Editors Pick Their Best Dressed Wimbledon Attendees Sienna Miller \'Like everyone else, Sienna Miller got the memo that if you don't have round tortoiseshell sunnies, you're not getting into Wimbledon this year. But the double-breasted suit is a surprise ace.\' - Tom Lazarus, copy director. \'Sienna Miller looks great in a tan suit! So effortless.\' - Grace O'Neill, fashion features director. Adwoa Aboah \'Adwoa looks beautiful in her Blaze Milano coat. I love anyone who can pull off this shade of pale yellow. And the flat shoes are perfect for walking up all of those stairs.\' - Kate Sullivan, senior editorial coordinator. \'Tonal lemon dream chic. This Blaze Milano coat is heaven.\' - Caroline Tran, fashion editor. Kendall Jenner \'One of the only looks that seem to have a heartbeat in a very traditional, dated setting.\' - Michelle Jackson, senior art editor. \'Kendall Jenner because she's clearly got an amazing assistant who steamed that shirt to crisp perfection. Love the silhouette and how comfortable she looks.\' - Kate Sullivan, senior editorial coordinator. Poppy Delevingne \'Poppy Delevingne's breezy floral frock is giving me serious warm-weather envy (and making me feel quite drab about my current rotation of head-to-toe black winter dressing).\' Janna Johnson O'Toole, beauty and wellness director. Lady Helen Taylor \'She looks fun and comfortable in this beautiful green dress. Love.\' - Kate Sullivan, senior editorial coordinator. Tessa Thompson \'Love this. The pocket crest, the deckchair stripes, the puddle hems, the sheer audacity of those pants… it's Golden Age movie-studio honcho on a transatlantic ocean-liner champagne bender—in the best possible way.\' - Tom Lazarus, copy director. \'Tessa is the epitome of cool in her oversized white suit and flats.\' - Grace O'Neill, fashion features director. Suki Waterhouse \'Has she layered two dresses here? Either way, with the boho jewellery and woven shoes, the effect is as if she's flung open French doors on the stale, stuffy air of Wimbledon dressing to let in a refreshing summer breeze. Thank you, Suki, for reminding us it's a game, not a wedding.\' - Tom Lazarus, copy director. Sophie Hunter \'This Emilia Wickstead two piece is sophisticated yet playful. I love the feminne print worn in an interesting way.\' Caroline Tran, fashion editor. Phoebe Waller Bridge \'She can do no wrong in my eyes.\' - Grace O'Neill, fashion features director. Claire Foy \'A modern take on the whole English summer thing, with just a suggestion of nanna's-sofa floral and a bag that looks as if it could do strawberries now and sandcastles later. Cool lens colour too.\' - Tom Lazarus, copy director.'

The unexpected hidden meaning behind Kate Middleton's stunning Wimbledon earrings

Tennis Now To Love

Kate Middleton included a very special edition to her Wimbledon outfit on Sunday, and it was all to do with her pearl earrings - we look at the beautiful story behind them.
'When Kate Middleton stepped out at the Wimbledon men's final for 2019, it would be safe to say we were enamoured by her stunning choice in outfit. And while it was her powder blue dress by Emilia Wickstead that immediately commanded the attention of our inner-fashion fanatic, there was something else about her outfit that was possibly even more special. The Wimbledon match was an unforgettable one, not least because of Kate's meme-worthy strained expressions that crossed her face over the course of the almost five-hour battle between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. And now, thanks to an eagle-eyed royal fan, there is also another, rather sweet message behind the Duchesses appearance at the match, and it's got everything to do with another well-known royal. Yep, and it all starts with those divine earrings sitting on her earlobes. The beautiful pearl accessories looked perfect with Kate's sea blue outfit, and funnily enough, we've actually seen her wear them before.. on the exact same day last year when Kate again attended Wimbledon on July 14th. What's more, Kate was once again pictured wearing them in January 2018 when she was visiting Sweden during a joint appearance with Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. So what's the connection, you might ask? Well, as it happens, the Swedish royal's birthday is on July 14th! A keen-eyed royal fan noticed the connection, sharing their thoughts on their Twitter account @Japanese_Ginger writing: \'Just thought of something.. Kate has worn her earrings by Swedish brand In2Design the last 2 years on July 14th, the birthday of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.\'' Indeed the earrings are by a Swedish brand, and it would make sense for Kate to opt for a style that was created in the country her Swedish friend and fellow royal resides on the day of her birthday. So it might well mean that the earrings were a subtle way for Kate to wish Victoria a happy birthday! WATCH: Kate Middleton doles out the high fives in Sweden. Story continues after video.. Watch video Where you can buy Kate's pearl earrings If you're a big fan of Kate's style of earrings (which we'll safely assume you are) then take heed: The style are known as the 'Baroque Pearl' and cost AUD $215. Not exactly cheap per se, but by royal standards it's definitely on the reasonable side of things!'
