'Last week, we spent some time with the all-new BMW 3 Series Touring and the review is coming up next month. In the mean time, as always, we wanted to get upclose with the cars and give you a closer look at their design.Shown here is the 3 Series Touring plug-in hybrid – 330e – and the 330i gasoline-powered touring. As expected, the current 330e sedan with latest eDrive technology will be implemented in the touring model as well. The PHEV drivetrain also uses the combination of four-cylinder gasoline engine and electric motor, with the XtraBoost providing even more power for a short time. The hybrid system comprises a four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed Steptronic transmission. The total system output is up to 215 kW/292 hp, with the XtraBoost mode engaged. The new BMW 330e Touring’s hybrid system combines the drive torque from the 135 kW/184 hp combustion engine with the power from the electric motor with peak output of 80 kW/109 hp.XtraBoost mode allows the two power sources’ combined output of 185 kW/252 hp to be increased for up to 10 seconds by an additional 30 kW/40 hp under particularly hard acceleration. This enables the BMW 330e Touring to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from rest in 6.1 seconds. The combined fuel consumption is 2.3 – 1.8 liters per 100 kilometers ) and cut CO2 emissions to 52 –42 grams per kilometer* (provisional figures). Electric power consumption averages between 16.3 and 15.7 kWh per 100 kilometers (62 miles)*, and the 330e Touring can drive for up to 63 kilometers (41 miles)* on electric power alone (provisional figures). The 330i Touring features a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine with 258 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. With xDrive all-wheel drive, it nails 62 mph in 5.8 seconds. That 330i is one of the least efficient touring, though, averaging 6.6 – 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers (42.8 – 44.8 mpg imp). Yet, this is still an impressive fuel consumption.Unfortunately, none of the 3 Series Touring models will come to the US, so for now, we’ll have to head over to Europe to have some fun with them. The article 2019 BMW 3 Series Touring – Real Life Videos appeared first on BMW BLOG'

Trump Relished Rally Chant, Ocasio-Cortez tells Constituents in Queens

'U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said on Saturday that President Donald Trump relished a chant by the crowd at a campaign rally this week that called for a Democratic congresswoman to be sent back where she came from.  Trump renewed his criticism of four minority women lawmakers on Friday, saying that they had said horrible things about the United States, and defended himself from criticism over his comment that they should leave the United States if unhappy.  A day after saying his audience in North Carolina went too far when they chanted “Send her back!” about Somalia-born Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, on Friday he defended the crowd members as “incredible patriots.”  Appearing before her constituents in New York City for the first time since the latest flare-up between Trump and the four Democratic congresswomen, Ocasio-Cortez rejected the president’s statement that he had tried to quiet the crowd, saying he had egged them on instead.  “Roll back the tape .. He relished it. He took it in and he’s doing this intentionally,” the freshman U.S. lawmaker told about 200 constituents gathered for a town hall meeting on immigration at a school in the Corona section of Queens.  Video of the crowd in North Carolina shouting “Send her back!” shows Trump pausing his speech and looking around the arena for about ten seconds.  The president’s attacks on the four congresswomen - known on Capitol Hill as “the squad” - have been condemned by Democrats as racist, while many Republicans have shrugged them off.  Last weekend Trump ignited a firestorm by tweeting the four should “go back” to where they came from if they do not like the United States.  All four are American citizens. Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan were born in the United States while Omar came as a refugee from Somalia and is a naturalized citizen.  All four are known as sharp critics of Trump’s policies as well as the Democratic leadership in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Ocasio-Cortez said the president’s comments had been hurtful, but “men like him” have been telling women like her to go back to their own country for a long time.  “We’re gonna stay right here,” she said to applause “That’s where we’re gonna go,” she said. “We’re not going anywhere.”'

'Hyundai’s Elantra Sport is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The engine is capable of producing 201 horsepower and and 195 lb.-ft. of torque and the powertrain as a whole achieves a fuel economy of 33 mpg highway and 26 mpg city for a 29 mpg combined average. The sport-tuned suspension with independent multi-link suspension in the rear, plus large front disc brake rotors give you confidence and assurance. Assurance that performance can definitely be expected. This sixth-generation Elantra has further improved its fluid sculpture styling. Inside, it provides an airy and modern space that is packed with premium features, intuitive control layouts, and way above average spaciousness. 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights (Both high and low beams), LED daytime running lights, and LED taillights are complemented by a sport front grille, heated side mirrors, door handle approach lights, and chrome-tipped exhaust. Proximity Key Entry with Push-Button Ignition gets you inside without having to search for your keys. The interior of the Elantra Sport. (Courtesy of Hyundai) The steering wheel and shift knob are both leather wrapped. Leather heated front seats with 6-way power adjustment on the driver’s side. The 60/40 split-folding rear seat allows flexible allocation of passenger and cargo space. The head room could be improved. and I would like to see a little more space in the front of the cabin. The 9-inch high-resolution touchscreen, the navigation system, plus the Premium Audio System with 8 speakers and Clari-Fi music restoration technology are all part of the $2,260 Premium Package. On the safety front, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Blind-Spot Collision Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Warning. Hyundai provides those little extras for Hyundai owners like hands-free smart trunk and rearview camera with dynamic guidelines. Which simply enrich the driving experience. Many new Hyundai vehicles come with Blue Link, which gives vehicle owners around-the-clock awareness and access through compatible devices, including smart watches and Alexa devices. This connected car service is complimentary for the first three years of ownership, and provides several very useful features. Something I hadn’t thought of being handy, but Geo-fence, Speed and Curfew Alert lets owners rest easy by notifying parents if the speeds, times or distance you set for the younger drivers are exceeded. The Remote Car Finder feature is truly a treasure. It lets you locate your Hyundai at a crowded sports stadium or shopping center. I can’t tell you how wonderful this feature is, when you are looking for your car at the DFW Airport where there are five terminal lots to search for your car. Remote Start with Climate Control is wonderful, especially when temperatures over 100 degrees are daily occurrences this summer. Just start your engines, and let it cool off before entering the vehicle. Enhanced Roadside Assistance gives your exact location when calling for assistance, and Automatic Collision Notification and Assistance automatically calls for help if things go seriously wrong. The Blue Link service suite is a very versatile package, and contains many more features like On-Demand Diagnostics and Alerts, Destination Send-to-Car by Google, and Panic Notification. Dashcam Footage Reveals Who Really Is To Blame For This Crash

Motorsports Carscoops

Two eye witnesses blamed the driver on the left, but the camera tells a totally different story.
'If you’ve ever questioned the usefulness of having a dashcam in your car , this video might convince you that buying one is well worth the money. Limited details about this incident shared on Reddit are known, but the title of the thread says that two witnesses blamed the driver with the dashcam. This footage reveals that this couldn’t be further from the truth. The crashed occurred in Orange County, California on a very wet day. The cammer can be seen driving along the left lane of a motorway when a sedan slowly begins to overtake from the right. However, this driver was clearly going a little too fast for the conditions and the car quickly aquaplanes directly in front of the cammer. Also Watch: Dashcam Footage Shows An F-16 Jet Pilot Ejecting Seconds Before Californian Crash As the sedan slides around, it slams into the concrete crash barrier of the highway. The cammer quickly pulls over, and while the video posted doesn’t include any audio, the footage itself is revealing. Unless something very bizarre had happened before, which is not shown in the video, this is as clear-cut as they come. While there are a number of expensive dashcams on the market, there are many cheaper alternatives available online which can record in 1080P or even 4K (which, frankly, unless you plan on making a Netflix movie, you don’t really need right now). Spending $50 on a dashcam could save you thousands, so you might want to think about it next time you visit an electronics store.
